Chapter 1: Change

Chapter 1: Change
Black, black, and more black! Outside of school mourning clothes ruled his life, yet inside he dressed like a jock except he wasn’t as cocky as most were. He slipped on a pair of black tripp pants lined in green, with a black tee shirt. He opened the window and looked out at the bleak white winter wonderland. More than once had he jumped from that exact spot the ground worn as his shoes pounded the ground time and time again. Breathing in the night air he could smell the musky scent of his clothes and trees that surrounded the house. Jumping he landed on the ground with a low thud, he started off at a dead run kicking his shoes off as he went. The ground was soft and was supposed to be cold with fresh fallen snow, but wasn’t to him.

He laughed in pure delight, the snow melting where his feet touched. A wolf joined him, he knew this wolf they raced often but always he lost. But today, today he would win! He kicked off from the ground and raced past the river dodging bushes and trees. The wolf howled her battle cry and charged keeping an easy pace with the boy she had so fondly grown attached to.

He laughed and continued to run his feet barely touching the ground. The wolf was a light gray color with black patches on her ears and back her eyes were brown. She ran gaining speed with each step, a sudden cry made both the wolf and boy stop dead in their tracks. His head snapped back to where the cry came, his lips peeled back over his canines and a low growl escaped his lips.

She ran, her breath hitched in her throat as the adrenaline poured into her like an open dam. She cut to the left and climbed a huge willow tree hiding amongst the leaves.

She stuffed her fist in her mouth to keep the sobs from giving her away. The people chasing her had long given up but some remained chasing her and threatening her. He breathed in her scent and smiled wickedly, the wolf cocked her head to the side but followed the boy more to protect him than out of curiosity.

His steps were careful and measured as were the wolfs. She kept her head down and he kept his hands up.

When the people who had been chasing her were a good distance away she decided she would come down. She stopped halfway, her body half hidden in the shadows of the night. She scrambled back up the tree already knowing she had been caught; but didn’t care every instinct told her to just keep climbing!

“Come down. I’ve already seen you so there’s no use in hiding.” His voice was a deep bass and it rang with authority. The wind blew his unusually white hair away from his face. She stopped and dropped down landing on her butt, she turned to face him and he noticed her eye was black and blue. Her skin was littered with cuts and bruises there was even a scar above and below her right eye which was blind.

She knew what he was staring at, where his eyes lingered the most. “Your name?” He questioned.

“People call me Em or Emmy… but my real name is Emilen.” She squared her shoulders and looked him straight in the eye.

He smiled and laughed, “I go by one name, I’m Abel.” He took a step forward and so did the wolf he head low and ears pinned back to her head. Abel watched her rise to her feet; she was about average height, she was skinny but not in the sickly way the girls at Abel’s school were, she had jet-black hair and sliver eyes. Her pants were caked with dirt and grass stains, as was her shirt. Emilen looked at Abel and saw he was wall! He was lean and wore black… a lot of it to; under his shirt she could see faint traces of muscle. His eyes were the most amazing color of blue reminding her of sapphires and oceans.

“Your eyes…” She breathed a smile breaking across her creamy olive skin. Seeing no danger the wolf walked forward her ears up. “Hi there.” Emilen exclaimed stroking the soft yet rough fur of the wolf. A moment passed between the wolf and girl before she finally stood and brushed the dirt from her pants. “I um… I have to go.” With that Emilen dashed off back to her village.

She took the worn path back to her village, sensing no danger she rushed through the trees and to the door that was open. “Emilen!” It was a male voice. A man walked out dressed in white druid robes he came to the shaken girl, “Your mother stopped by.” He said. He had brown hair that was short and stuck up in a wild disarray around his head, he was tall with emerald green eyes.

“I’m sorry I got caught Sam… what’d you tell Mama?” Emilen questioned.

“I told her the truth. Emilen I can’t keep this from her.” He whispered. She knew he was right. She loved her mother and Sam had always been there for her but it was time she leave. But how could she leave her mother without some huge blow up occurring? Tonight… she would leave then.

Abel stood there longer than he should have. The wolf Sapphire returned to stand beside him, not sure what to do. Those bruises he saw… they looked fresh. He tore his gaze away from the spot she had last been, he blinked and tried to move but knew he couldn’t… knew he’d be back tonight.

He finally moved his wooden legs Sapphire following behind, something she rarely did. “Her eye… did you see it?” He questioned. “She’s blind…” Something in the way he saw it struck a nerve, he let out a low growl. He supposed it was the way he had been raised, he sighed following the path to the two-story house. The houses residents were four men all-ranging from ages seventeen to twenty-three. Abel was eighteen, Onyx twenty, Felix seventeen and Cain twenty-three.

“Hey Abel!” It was Felix, he had short black hair and his eyes were a strange shade of gray. “Something wrong?” He asked. Abel shook his head and walked in the white house, the walls were a light blue. There was a coffee table in the middle of the living room and a t.v hanging on the wall.

There was a bookcase that held DVDs and other random objects. “Hey you look distracted. Did you finally get laid?” The voice was a tenor and Abel was sure that he’d know it anywhere; it was Cain, Onyx’s brother. He had silver hair and smoke colored eyes that were filmy looking Cain didn’t need his vision to know Abel was in a bad mood, he could taste it in the air around him, being blind had heightened Cain’s senses.

“How can you see if I’m distracted?” Abel all but growled.

“Calm down Abel what’s wrong?” Cain picked up an apple and bit into it. When Cain touched something he could see it in his mind. When he touched the table he could see what was on it, but with people it was different he could see them but he could also see into their soul to what was really going on.

“I’m sorry… I met this girl… she looked like she was hurt.” He said through clenched teeth.

“Ah.” Cain responded. “You could bring her here.” He chuckled.

Abel sighed and went upstairs; he went to his laptop and flipped open the black notebook. He checked his messages and saw one from his ex-girlfriend Kali. He deleted it even before her read it already knowing the contents it held. He growled and rested his head on the desk, his room held three dressers on top of the tallest one there was a docker with and ipod in it. Abel turned it on and opened his bedroom window.

He knew Cain would know when his feet touched the ground.

There was only so much night left and even though Sam was a light sleeper Emilen was skilled in being sneaky and sneaking off was her specialty. She grabbed her duffel bag from the floor and jumped out her open window, she ran to the meadow where she had met the boy named Abel.

She saw him standing there leaning against the tree. “A… Abel.” She whispered surprised to see him.

“Yeah… thought I’d come see you again.” He caught the sight of her duffel bag and asked, “Running away?” She hesitated so he went on. “If your looking for somewhere to live then you can stay with us.”

“Umm… ok.” Emilen walked forward and followed Abel into the forest. She was surprised to see a man outside sitting on the porch sketchbook in hand. As they got closer she saw he was blind, not just in one eye like her but in both. “He’s…” Emilen gasped and ran up to him.

“Well hello there.” Cain said extending his hand.

Emilen took it in both of hers and let him get a glimpse of who she was.

“She’s beautiful. Why didn’t you tell me she was this beautiful?” Cain complained.

Abel’s face turned scarlet and he turned away, “Emilen… do you go to school anywhere around here?”

She nodded and responded, “Yeah Jacksonville High.” Cain laughed, closed his sketchpad and headed inside the house so Abel could deal with his shock alone. “I assume you go to school there to?” She questioned. He nodded woodenly and a smile lit Emilen’s face, maybe she knew Kali… and maybe she didn’t.

“Do you know Kali?” He asked. Emilen shook her head; he felt no need to explain himself so he led her inside. He showed her to an empty guest room that had light green walls and black lacy curtains, a bed and three dressers. He led her to the shower and left from there to find Cain. When he did find him he was in his room sketchpad back in hand, “Cain! She’s the one!” He cried frantically.

“Oh so your going to propose?” Cain laughed.

“Not that ‘one’! The other one! I’ve seen her in my dreams!” Abel sank to the floor and rubbed his already aching temples. Cain laughed and laid his sketchpad down; Abel saw the traces and lines of a hand. He craned his neck and saw shoulders finally he was able to see the head and face. “Is that… why don’t you just ask her out?” Abel asked?

“Ah… to ask out Phoenix… what a dream that is.” Abel shook his head as Cain launched into a poem. “What happens to a dream deferred?”

“Not that one!” Abel complained.

Emilen hopped in the shower and sighed as the warm spray hit her cuts and bruises. The water was warm but hurt where it touched the more recent cuts and infected ones. Cain had stood out the most to her, he seemed sweet and even though he was blind he could see her. Sam had told her about Cain, had told her about his special ability. But to see it up close, to see how he used his gift… her eyes filled with tears.

She wiped them away angrily she would not cry! She didn’t cry when her father was taken from her, not when she lost sight in her right eye… she wouldn’t start now. She knew who’d taken her father and killed him, he was a just and fair man and he when he was killed her mother had taken over the Council on which he served. She washed up turned the water off and got dressed into a blue shirt and boxer shorts.

She opened the door and started off back to the room when someone’s whistle stopped her. She turned to see a boy with black hair and coal black eyes. “I’m so sorry!” He cried. “I thought you were someone else! I’m Onyx.”

“I’m Emilen.”

Onyx smiled and apologized again, Emilen grinned and headed back off to the bedroom. She saw Abel sitting on the bed, looking towards the window. “So you’ve met Onyx… I’m not sure where Felix is at, but if you can deal with four guys your welcome to live with us.” He said turning to her.

“Thank you.” Emilen replied earnestly. Abel laughed and headed off to his room, that night he tossed and turned trying hard to fall asleep but couldn’t. He stared at the clock that read three in the morning, he groaned and rolled back over on his side away from the clock. He rolled around a few more times before finally settling on his back and staring at the ceiling. He looked back at the clock and decided to get up.

He treaded downstairs and saw Felix nose his way in the door. “Morning.” He said scratching the back of his head.

“You’ve been… where?” Abel questioned.

“I was… I was talking to Phoenix ok! And before you ask why I was trying to get Cain and her hooked up… and its cold outside, I fell into a pond and needed somewhere to dry!” Felix cried. Felix sniffed the air around him a smile breaking across his face, “You have a lady friend eh?”

“Her name is Emilen she needs somewhere to stay.” Abel responded grabbing a can of Mountain Dew and downing it. Felix laughed, doubled over and held his sides as he fell to the floor still holding his sides. “What?” Abel cried his face flushing a bright red.

"Oh nothing!" Felix stopped laughing, jumped up and went to his room. Abel growled something incoherent and stalked back to his room... but when he opened the door he realized it was the room Emilen was in. He walked over to her bedside and watched the sleeping figure. He reached his hand out, if only to brush a stray lock of hair away but his hand rested on her forehead and he was with her in her dreams.

Emilen walked forward, she knew someone was with her but she couldn't turn and look, all she could do was continue to walk on. "Dad!" She called not knowing why, but she knew she should call again. "Daddy!"

A short man with salt and pepper hair and tanned skin seemed to appear from thin air, he had green eyes and wore a blue shirt and black slacks. "Emmy!" He cried opening his arms wide for Emilen. She ran to him and Abel growled this pleasant reunion was about to turn into a nightmare.

He wanted to run and help her but since he had intruded her dreams he wasn't allowed to which was really bad because he couldn’t warn her… couldn’t help her. He knew he couldn't call to her because he had no voice.

Her father's arms wrapped around her. Soon they became crushing, restricting her from escaping, and his face... he was changing! His face, his body and everything about him was changing, she pushed against his chest trying to escape but knowing she couldn't. "Let me go!" She cried struggling for all she was worth. Abel's hands shot out but his lips were pressed together in a hard line and he tried to help but couldn't. He watched as tears streamed down her cheeks, he watched as she begged for him to let her go. "Time to go." A voice whispered in his mind. "Time to come back." It whispered gently pulling him away.

“No! No! Don’t hurt her!” Phoenix’s fingers curled under Abel’s arms. Abel held onto the covers wanting to help Emilen so bad. Phoenix laid Abel on his back and held him down; she placed her hand on his forehead and murmured something in Swedish. Abel’s eyes slowly opened and he looked around the room, he was in his bed… and the sun was streaming through the opened curtains. He wondered then if he had just dreamt last night’s events?

Phoenix opened her closet door; she had her flaming red hair tied back in a hair band. Her skin was pale and her nails were painted an emerald green reflecting her eyes. She pulled a green shirt out and a short frilly jean skirt. She had been called over the previous night to get Abel out of a dream.

She sighed, grabbed her book bag and keys and headed out to the garage that held her 2008 Ferrari. It was candy apple red and fast, just the way Phoenix loved her cars. She ran polished nails over the hood and hopped in to pick up Emilen, Abel, Felix and Onyx who always snuck regardless of his age and the fact he’d already graduated.

“What’s for breakfast?” Onyx questioned as he bounded downstairs.

“Whatever you can find!” Felix called.

Emilen went downstairs wearing a short jean skirt and sapphire blue tank top. Felix’s mouth fell open and cereal poured from his mouth. Abel was beside her in what he had wore the night he met Emilen, “Beauty and the Beast.” Onyx laughed.

A horn sounded in the distance and the boys grabbed their back packs, “Come on Emmy.” Felix said innocence coating his tenor voice. The boys watched as Felix grabbed Emilen’s hand and toted her out the door, both laughing at a joke Felix has said as they went. No one said anything for a while; they just stood there until three honks later they decided to move. Cain was outside tuning up his guitar and strumming it, humming a few notes to himself as he did so.

“Have a good day!” He sang as the boys loaded into Phoenix’s car. Cain hopped up and zipped his guitar up in its case slung it over his shoulder and headed off toward the woods. He came to the little village that was just waking with the sun that was still rising. He walked on down to a small cabin; he walked up the steps and knocked on the door. Sam opened it and before he had a chance to say anything Cain spoke up, “She’s fine…”

“It’s happening isn’t it?” Sam asked worry creasing his brow.

“I’m sorry. Does Adalyn know about this?” Cain questioned.

Sam shook head and replied, “I’m not in to telling her… but I’ll have to. Ryker wouldn’t be happy about this at all.” He whispered. Cain had to agree; if he knew what Emilen was becoming… and would be he’d have everyone’s hide! “You didn’t tell her did you?”

“No.”

“I knew this day would come… you did your best Cain! That’s all Adalyn had ever asked of you! Look what it cost you though… Adalyn still feels bad about…“
Cain interrupted before he could start, “I did my best, so it cost me my vision I’m fine. Just don’t tell her… when the time comes I will.”

Chapter 4: Confessions Please (Prt. 1)

Chapter 4: Confessions please

Caleb led the way with Aidan beside him the two quietly talking among themselves.

They seemed to be talking about cars because they were saying things about motors, rims, and horsepower. The school wasn’t far from where the pack lived; there were students already there when they entered. Jack was there leaning against the lobby wall eyes honed in on Annette.

He sauntered over eyes fierce, his eyes normally a light red looked like blood. “Annette.” He said. Caleb grabbed Annette’s wrist and pulled her behind him, “Annette come here.” He whispered.

“Jack leave her alone.” It was Lee.

“Lee!” Annette cried pulling away from Caleb and rushing into Lee’s arms. Lee wrapped an arm around Annette’s waist. He pulled her behind him as he spoke to Jack.

“I have a right to see her.” Jack replied.

“Not anymore. You stay away from her! If you don’t and I find out about it there will be hell to pay!” His voice was low, a warning to not only Jack to but Ian’s pack as well. Jack shouldered past Lee muttering something about getting Annette. Lee turned his attention to Ian. “Thank you Ian for keeping her safe.” With that Lee herded Annette off to find Max and the others.

“There she is.” Amy crowed running up and hugging Annette, May came next with Max in tow.

The bell rang and Amy followed Max to his locker, “Those people she stayed with… they our neighbors?” He asked pulling out a black binder.

“Afraid so.” Amy said. Max finished digging through his locker and let Lee have it. He followed Amy to hers; Amy opened her locker to find a white envelope in her locker. Somebody had been sending her love notes. She pulled the envelope out and carefully opened it, it said:

Dear Amy,
I know I’ve been sending you note after note. I’ve decided to just come right out and tell you who I am. Be at locker number 6025 at eight.

Amy checked her watch she had two minutes. The strange thing was she had to be at Lee’s and Max’s locker. Max followed her snickering the whole way, “Ok its eight where’s my secret admirer?” Amy questioned.

“Here she is!” May shouted, as heads turned. May shot down the hall and hopped into Amy’s arms, “I love you!” She squealed. Vivian came out of the girls bathroom and took a quick picture, “That outta teach you not to freeze my bra!” She stated.

May jumped out of Amy’s arm and caught the camera Vivian tossed at her. “How’d she get you?”

“She convinced me that Riley was gay, and that he and Lee were secretly dating.” Vivian confessed.

“Vivian! Oh the trauma you must have went through.” Amy cried.

“Ian…. How do you know him?” Annette asked as Lee stopped with her at her locker. Lee shrugged and looked away. “Lee? Please tell me.” Annette asked as she grabbed her stuff and stood beside him.

“It was a long time ago, way before you were born. Max and I had a rough past. Mother was a sweet woman, very caring and loving. In a way she was like you and May, Father well he, he was the pissed off version of Max!” Annette had to giggle at that, when Max got mad he lost all focus of everything but the thing that made him angry.

“Max was never strong physically, he was ill a lot. But when he changed he didn’t come home for two weeks. When he did he explained what happened, he changed me. I actually saved Ian’s village from a fire. It was back in the summer of 1830, somebody was messing around the brushes with fire and once they got caught they spread creating a wild fire. It burnt down two bakery stores, and five houses going on six. May who was new to our coven smelled the bodies and blood, she tried as best she could to cover her nose but the blood was already messing with her mind.

“She raced down to the village bent on killing innocent people. Max and I had built our lives to live in secret, so no one would know what we were… we weren’t about to let May ruin that for us… even if it meant we had to kill her. We raced down to the village we were so accustomed to smelling animal blood this new blood didn’t even phase us. May was about to attack her first victim a small boy lost, looking for his mother.”

Annette gasped and looked at May, she was so playful throwing the camera around keeping it away from Amy. May was a sweet and gentle…. vampire, the person Lee described now didn’t match May’s profile. “We stopped her in time, luckily she only bit Max taking a small amount of his blood.”

“Wait… you guys have…. blood still?” Annette gasped.

“Well yes, would you like to hear the story or vampire history?” He countered.

“The story, sorry it just surprised me go on.” Was the timid reply.

“Yes now where was I? Oh yes, Max lost a small amount of blood before he finally threw May off and tackled her. He talked to her receiving several more bite marks, but finally he got through to her. She stayed by his side not trusting herself… eventually things got to bad for her so Max left with her. May felt horrible, she felt like she had betrayed us and almost left our coven to go out on her own… anyway back to the story!

“As I was examining the damage I saw a boy flaming red hair, easy to miss against the smoke and fire. He was right in the middle, a ring of fire had been made around him and some of the people there were shouting at him to die… they were calling him a beast. At first I thought he was one of us, so I ran through the fire and rescued him. Now mind you that wasn’t the smartest thing to do, but I didn’t want him to die either. It was then that I found out, he smelled different like a dog really. When I asked he answered, ‘I’m a werewolf!’

“I stared at him a moment not sure if I really heard the answer, ‘A what?’ I asked.

“He stared at me for a moment before answering, ‘A werewolf! Didn’t you hear me the first time?!’ I was appalled that he would be so rude to a vampire at the least. Did he have a death wish he was planning to fulfill anytime soon?

“ ‘Do you have a death wish dog?’ I countered. He growled at me and I knew he was about to attack. ‘Calm down! Look do you know what I am?’ I asked instead.

“ ‘I don’t know… what are you?’ He sneered.

“ ‘I’m your worst nightmare, I’m a vampire.’ I hissed and showed off my fangs. He growled at me again, so I just left him there in the woods I wasn’t about to help an ungrateful dog. I found May and Max then… and that’s pretty much it.” There was something in the way he said it that made Annette think there was more.

But before she could even ask Lee had leaned down and kissed her. It felt so right! Like she had found her other half, her pain was his pain. Nothing was said; it didn’t have to be in that one kiss everything was said.

Annette pulled back and rested her head against Lee. “Can we go home? Jack’s here.” She plead.

Vivian rubbed her eyes and asked, “Am I the only one who saw that?” “No I saw it to.” May volunteered, Amy and Max just nodded mouths wide open.

“What? What happened? What’d I miss?” Riley’s questions startled the group to life.

“Lee just kissed Annette.” Vivian said her eyes sparkling with excitement, “It was so romantic to!” She continued. Amy smiled; she always knew Lee and Annette were meant to be.

Lee led the way outside, the sun hid behind the clouds as rain threatened to fall. The ride home was silent, each one wrapped in their own thoughts. Once they were home and safely inside did Lee wrap his arms around Annette and hold her tight. “I love you.” He whispered in her ear.

Annette pulled away from him, “Why would you love me?” She asked.

“What’s wrong?” Lee questioned.

“Jack… he… Jack raped… me.” Her voice cracked at the end and she fell down to her knees.

Lee dropped down beside her and held her close, “It’s ok, shh its ok we’ll get through this. I promise.” He vowed pulling Annette in his lap. “Your all that matters to me.” He whispered trying to soothe her.

“What if I end up pregnant then what?” Annette challenged.

“I’ll still love you and want you, and I’ll love the baby to.” Lee said.

“I’m scared.” Was the soft reply.

“I know, we’ll get through this.” Lee promised.

“Lee… I have something else I have to tell you.” It was now or never. Lee looked at her and waited for her to continue. “I’m… I’m a werewolf.”
Lee sighed heavily. “I thought you were going to say something else, I don’t care what you are! You could be a witch, but that doesn’t change how I feel about you.” With that being said he tilted Annette’s chin up and kissed her once again.

I’m where I belong… I’ve always been here I think; it just took me till now to realize it. Lee is so amazing he supports me being a werewolf and all. Amy said Lee and I were bound to happen anyway. Max actually fainted when we told him I was a werewolf.

Lee’s trying hard to trust the pack for my sake anyway, since I’m a new werewolf I could easily hurt people if I get to upset. Alex has been flirting with Amy a lot he seems to like her, and she, him. Ian misses Scotland, the girls loved him there, he likes Florida don’t get me wrong but I guess he’s just home sick.

Alex misses Italy, Caleb and Aidan have lived here their whole lives so they can’t really miss anything. Anyway I have to go meet Aidan in the meadow he’s training me today.

Annette closed her journal and placed it on her bed. “Whatcha doing?” Max asked leaning against the doorframe.

“Just writing in my journal.” Annette replied playing with a pen.

“You wanna talk about something?” He asked.

“Um… you wouldn’t understand, May would and so would Amy.” She whispered. “Besides I have to go… Aidan is expecting me.” With that being said Annette hopped up and went downstairs.

“Hey… how are you using that arm? It was fractured!” Amy shouted rushing over and flapping Annette’s arm up and down. She pulled it back and forth muttering, “How did this happen?”

Chapter 3: Dream

Chapter 3: Dream

“Max I need you to tell me if she has any broken bones, I don’t have an x-ray so you’ll to be the x-ray for me.” Amy said.

“So you mean I’ll…” Max started flushing.

“No! Not feel her up stupid! Just run your hands over her arms, legs and ribs.” Amy said. Annette had been out for most of it. “Max?” Amy started.

Max had counted three broken ribs and a fracture in her left arm. Her legs were fine, “Yeah?” Max asked.

“What really happened to May? I know she hasn’t always been with you guys and I was just curious.” Amy said.

Max smiled, “How did you know she wasn’t always like us?”

“We go clubbing, Annette used to go with us until Jack said she couldn’t. Don’t worry we didn’t use fake I.D.’s it’s a teen club.” Amy responded.

“Three broken ribs, and fractured left arm. Now about May, she was a daredevil and one of her stunts was performing for her friends. She broke her neck, when we found her we decided to save her. She’s been with us ever since.” Max concluded. Amy put a brace on Annette’s arm that was all she could do for now.

Even though Annette was not all there her subconscious presented her what had happened to her. It was like a movie being played. Jack had taken her to his house, he talked to her before pinning her down to the bed, and she struggled crying she didn’t want this. She knew what would happen next, he hit her, kicked, punched and screamed that she was worthless. She gave up, what happened next was skipped and she was in the meadow clothes torn and being beat once again. Annette screamed her gashes began getting bigger! She was loosing so much blood!
Annette sat up with a jolt, Lee had has hand on her forehead. “Lee?” Annette panted her heart racing.

“Yes, Amy called and May and I rushed over! How are you feeling?” He asked.

“Hurt.” Lee didn’t realize her words held two meanings.

“He got you pretty good.” Was the simple reply.

“My eye… I’m not going to be able to see out of it am I?” Annette asked.

Downstairs May, Amy and Max were talking about none other than Jack himself. “When I came in I could smell him all over her! Could you not Max?” May questioned.

“Yeah but you don’t think… he… you know.” Max hated to think that.

“Lee can I talk to you?” Annette questioned.

“Of course! What’s on your mind?” Lee asked.

Annette pulled herself up and reached for Lee’s hand, she took it in hers and pulled him on the bed beside her. “You were right. Jack was bad for me. I’m sorry.” She whispered.

“He did something to you, something besides hit you.” It was a statement, a fact. “What happened? You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want.” He responded equally as quiet. Annette fought back the tears that tried to escape; she shook her head and got up.

Amy stared at Annette as she descended the stairs Lee right behind her. They had agreed not to say anything to her about what had happened, she would tell them when she felt she was ready to. Annette stood there at the foot of the stairs her head down and her black hair making a black curtain around her. Amy and May wanted to rush up and hug her but Max's hand on their shoulders prevented them from doing that. May looked up and gave him her best 'please can I?' stare which Max looked away before it could take effect. Lee had his hands in his pockets looking out the window. Annette grabbed her black cloak and slipped into it, she whispered something about going outside and swept out into the cold.

The wind blasted on her face as she walked down the trailhead, past the newcomer’s house and to the meadow she and Lee used to hang out at. Before everything became unbearably painful and rough. Annette sat down, on the ground her back up against an old willow tree she brought her knees up and just stared at the pond. The fish were happily swimming around and some were even jumping up. Annette felt her eyelids get heavy and her and head began to loll. She rested it against the old willow and shut her eyes just for a few moments.

Someone walked into the clearing hood drawn up on his cloak, he held what looked like a pad in his hands and a pencil in his other. He sat down in front of the sleeping girl and sweeped her dark black hair away from her right eye. He tucked the piece behind her ear, flipped his pad open and began to sketch the girl. His hands swiftly moved across the paper his eyes never leaving hers; his hands guided the pencil in swift motions. When he was done he slowly got up and disappeared into the shadows as she was beginning to wake. Annette sat up with jolt, someone had been here she could smell it! Smell it? Since when had her senses been heightened? She looked at her hand and claws were beginning to form!

The door to the house opened and the hooded figure walked in. "Did you do it?" A boy asked he looked around 18 his hair was flaming red; his accent was thick with Irish. He had a black sweater on with black jeans; in his hand he held an acoustic guitar his prized possession.

“Why do you have that out?” The hooded figure asked pointing to the guitar.

"Oh I was just tuning Lily up." Was the simple reply "So when do we meet her?" he asked.

"Yes I did it, it wont be long." He said his voice a low tenor. "Give or take an hour." He added heading upstairs to put the sketchpad and pencil away.

A scream could be heard in the clearing.

Birds flew from their canopy in the trees as the screaming turned into a howl of pain. A snow-white wolf with gold eyes had replaced Annette’s reflection in the water. Using her powerful legs the wolf raced to Amy’s, she was half way there when she ran into Max. He growled and took a swipe at the wolf’s already bloody form. Annette barely dodged the second set of claws that threatened to kill her. ‘Don’t you know who I am?’ She whimpered. Lee growled his eyes red with bloodlust, Annette began to slink back her eyes darting between Max and Lee.

She turned and ran she didn’t know where she was going; she let her legs guide her down the trailhead and toward the meadow. Instead of taking a right, which would have taken her to the meadow, she took a left and slowed down.

Something told her to look for the boy with a sketchpad. The housed were lined together all the same shade of an off white, Annette’s ears perked up when she heard a guitar being strummed. As she got closer she saw a boy who looked a lot like Riley, he was playing an acoustic guitar, another boy sat beside him sketchpad and pencil in hand. Annette charged at the boy with the sketchpad she pinned him down jaws snapping. ‘Change me back! Change me back!’ She thought her mind screaming.

“Calm down, calm down ok?” The red haired boy said putting his guitar down.

‘You can hear me?’ Annette thought stepping off the hooded figure and cocking her head to one side.

“Ian! Why’d you let her attack me?” The hooded figure asked sitting up, the hood fell to reveal a boy who had tan skin, black hair in a ponytail, and hard black eyes. “Look calm down! I didn’t change you, you changed yourself.” That was directed toward Annette.

‘How… how did I change myself?!’ Annette screeched.

“Ian go get a change of clothes for her please?” The boy asked.

“Don’t do anything to her while I’m gone ok Caleb?” Ian joked as he left to get Annette some clothes.

Caleb turned his back toward Annette before speaking again, “Think about what you want. Think of yourself as human, who you were before you changed.” Caleb murmured. Annette thought about her black hair, her violet eyes and the one that would be forever imperfect. Her skin complication, her nose, lips everything! She felt her bones break and reshape, when she opened her eyes she was herself again. No fur, no claws, she smiled as Caleb began to turn around. “Ah! I didn’t see anything I swear!” he shouted flushing.

Caleb had forgot to mention that when she changed back she’d be naked. Caleb closed his eyes and crossed over to Annette, he grabbed the cloak and wrapped it around her. Annette stood up on wobbly legs, her knees buckled and Caleb reached out to steady her, without even making the conscious decision to he was kissing her. His lips were soft against hers, Annette found her arms began to wrap around his neck, Caleb in turn pulled her closer to him. He was gentle she had to give him credit for that Jack’s kisses were never this sweet or this gentle. Jack… Annette pulled away startling Caleb. “What’s wrong?” he asked.

“You attacked her!” Ian shouted from the doorway.

“I… I have to go.” Annette stammered.

Ian placed a hand on her shoulder, “It’s really late, stay the night and we’ll take you home tomorrow.” He said. “You can use Caleb’s room, Caleb you can have the couch. It’s only one night.” Ian stated before Caleb could protest. Ian led Annette upstairs to a blue room. It held a queen-sized bed, a nightstand with a digital clock and a lava lamp. He had two oak dressers, a black and gray stereo on the biggest dresser, and a docker with the mp3 in it. The smaller wider one had a mirror wrought in silver, and an oak desk with an Acer notebook flipped open, the swivel chair pushed in.

“Thanks.” Annette whispered in awe finding a pair of clothes on the bed. Ian showed her to the bathroom and left Annette alone. Annette got a quick shower and put on the black boxer shorts and gray t-shirt. She hurried back to the room to find Caleb waiting for her.

“I’m sorry I kissed you.” He whispered. Annette sat on the gray covers beside him, a dark curtain of hair covering her right eye. Caleb reached over to brush her hair out of her eye but she pulled back. Caleb dropped his hand and stared out of the window. “It’s getting pretty late… I should go… goodnight.” He whispered getting up and heading for the living room.

“Do you know who that is?” It was Ian he was talking to Aidan. Aidan shook his head and let Ian continue. “That’s Lee’s kid!”

“What?! No, since when did they decide to adopt?” Aidan asked running a hand through his coal black hair.

“They didn’t. Parents died, they were good friends of her parents.” Ian said. Caleb went to the couch and put his head in his hands. He’d heard about the famous vampire coven that had taken in a human girl and raised her. But what would they do if they knew she was a werewolf? With that still in mind Caleb pulled a blue quilt over himself and fell asleep, she was the famous Annette… come home.

The next morning dawned bright and early. Aidan opened Caleb’s door to see Annette but no Caleb. “Did you kill him?” Aidan joked. Annette was staring out of the window her mind far away. “Annette?” Aidan asked placing a hand on her shoulder.

Annette jumped startled, “Oh!” She gasped.

“Do you have anything for school?” Aidan asked. Annette thought a moment and nodded, Aidan left so she could change. In her cloak she remembered she had spare clothes, her cloak had deep pockets. She pulled out a pair of blue jeans and a black leather halter-top that belonged to Amy. She slipped that on and headed downstairs forgetting her cloak.

Ian’s mouth dropped open, Aidan murmured a low ‘whoa’, Caleb dropped his cereal and a low whistle came from the door. This boy looked nothing like his pack brothers, he had fair skin and light brown hair with beautiful honey colored eyes. Aidan looked a lot like Caleb; he preferred tight black shirts so he could show off his muscles. Like Caleb he had tan skin black hair but he had blue eyes. “I’m Alex.” Alex was the skater type. He sauntered over and kissed Annette’s cheek.

Annette’s eyes widened and she took a step back. “I have to go.” She mumbled rushing off. Caleb followed by Aidan started after her.

“Do you know who that is?” Ian asked.

“I’m guessing a girl.” Alex said sarcasm dripping.

“That’s Lee’s kid!” Ian shouted. Alex had heard about Annette but he didn’t think anything of it. “He’s very protective of her.” Ian continued.

Outside Annette was pacing, Caleb and Aidan watched. “Calm down. Look lets just go to school and find Lee.” Aidan suggested.

“Lee, yeah he’ll know what to do.” Annette muttered eyes locked toward the school. Aidan snickered as he watched Annette continue to talk to herself and stare towards the school.

“See that’s what I like about her, she’s so down to earth.” Aidan laughed lightly punching Caleb’s arm. Caleb didn’t feel like mentioning the fact they only knew her for some odd hours. Ian walked out then Alex in tow.

The pack left for school then, not knowing what lay ahead.

Chapter 2: Broken

Sorry for the long wait and without further adue (sp? word? whatever) Chapter 2!

Chapter 2: broken

“I think I should have kept my boobs and walked around with them for the rest of the day.” Lee mused pulling his hair back up. Riley took the wig off, his flaming red hair poked out in different sides.

“Wig hair.” Max said. Riley had red hair and hazel eyes his skin was fair in contrast to his girlfriend Vivian. Once in the bathroom Riley shed the tight shirt for another looser black shirt and traded his skirt for a pair of black tripp pants that had blue lining. “So Riley what do you think of Lee and Annette getting together?” Max asked.

“Go for it Lee! You’ve known her forever! But I thought she was still dating Jack.” Riley said.

“Yeah she is, but if she breaks up with him….” Max started.

“No! I would never do that to Annette!” Lee said.

Riley looked over at Lee, who was struggling to take his shirt off. Max laughed as Riley went over and tugged the shirt off of Lee. “I’m worried about Annette.” Riley said laying the shirt across the sink.

“Oh so now you like her? Lee you got some competition!” Max laughed, tugging his shirt off. Lee turned his glare to Max and threw a heel that May had lent him at Max.

“Shut up! I do not!” Lee shouted as Max grabbed the heel and prepared to fight.

“No… no that’s not what I meant… I mean I heard something about Jack.” Riley replied. Everyone froze and all eyes turned to Riley, Riley never liked the spotlight to go to him he backed up and hit the wall.

“What?” Lee asked trying to keep his temper in check. Max laid a hand on Lee’s shoulder to steady him.

“I heard that Jack… well I heard he beats people.” Riley whispered.

“What?!” Lee and Max shouted, Lee’s temper began to flare.

“Who did you hear that from?” Lee managed to choke out.

“I don’t know! But I heard it, it sounded like someone whispered it in my ear… but when I turned around there was no one beside me or behind me or anywhere! It was just me!” Riley quickly stated. He didn’t like the way Lee’s eyes went from green to a deep red all in a matter of seconds… and all over Jack and Annette.

“That’s not funny! Now be serious.” Lee said trying to get his temper under control again.

“I am!” Riley tried to defend himself before his friend attacked him.

“Maybe his subconscious mind did it? It’s been know to do strange things like that.” Max replied laying a hand on Lee’s shoulder.

“I forbid her to see him!” Lee said through gritted teeth.

“You can’t do that.” Riley pointed out.

“The hell I can’t!” Lee’s eyes began to slowly turn red, the change happened so fast that Riley didn’t have time to see it all, Max’s back hit him hard in the stomach sending Riley to the wall. Riley watched as Max’s hands were laced through his brothers and they were pushing each other Max trying to get a good foothold so he could let go and grab Lee’s neck and waist. At least hold him still long enough to calm him down, Riley stood up and felt no blood on the back of his head just a big headache.

He stuck his head out of the boy’s bathroom and made sure no one else heard it! He came back in and locked the door behind him, that way if someone were trying to get in they’d at least have a fair warning. Lee’s gaze however was following Riley as he tried snapping at him and Max. “Just calm down!” Max said able to grab Lee’s throat and cut of his air supply. Lee didn’t like that; it was uncomfortable to not be able to breath. He calmed down and Max was able to let go of him. “He’s right you know, you’re not her biological father.” Max finally pointed out when he thought Lee could take it.

“I can’t tell her!” Lee finally said sliding down the wall. “Sorry Riley I didn’t mean for you to see that.” Lee said directing his gaze towards Riley.

“Oh no problem! Its not everyday you get to see your vampire friend try to kill you! I’ll treasure that moment forever.” Riley said trying to lighten the mood. Max chuckled and shook his head. “By the way are you guys familiar with demon culture?” Riley asked.

“No.” Max replied shaking his head, he looked at Lee who was also shaking his head.

“Well in the relationship whoever is the strongest rules and since Jack happens to be stronger he rules. He can do whatever he wants to her… except kill her! Don’t worry Lee she’s safe for now.” Riley replied.

“So we may be able to stop this?” Lee asked his expression turning hopeful.

“I’m sorry… I didn’t tell you this sooner.” Riley said hanging his head.

“Why? We know now and besides we might be able to stop him!” Max laughed.

“Yes I know but I’ve known this for weeks. I didn’t know if it was true but Jack’s been getting so aggressive lately.” Riley sighed.

“We’re going to be to late.” Lee responded as he adjusted his shirt and leaned against the wall.

“Well it depends on how much he’s brainwashed her.” Max sighed.

“Any other customs?” Lee asked.

“That’s all I know, I suggest you brush up on your demon history and culture. Maybe ask Annette?” Riley suggested.

“No! That’s just asking for trouble! She’s been moody… oh crap.” Lee and Max chorused. Riley flushed and regained composure before talking again.

“Do you want to meet me at my house after school, maybe we could research this.” Riley recommended.

“That sounds good, I’ll tell May that we won’t be home.” Max sighed and ran a hand through his hair. The guys filed out of the bathroom and went back to class just as the bell rang. “May!” Max called; May weaved her way through the crowd. Max whispered something in May’s ear; she nodded and herded Annette off to their next class.

“What was that all about?” Annette whispered as their second class started. Mr. Boone the World History teacher began to mumble out the lesson as he always did. Mr. Boone was a short stocky man with a receding hairline, what was left of his hair looked like salt and pepper. He had a checkered shirt on, black slacks and penny loafers.

“It’s nothing, don’t worry about it.” May whispered back. Letting her mind wander Annette opened her notebook to find a set of lyrics and a half drawn comic. She flipped to a blank page and let her pencil gently glide over the paper. Half way through the class Annette looked at her drawing, it was a wolf the eyes shaded in so she knew they were a deep color. May’s eyebrows lifted as she leaned over to get a closer look, snapping the notebook shut caused Mr. Boone to look over.

He didn’t say anything, only raised his eyebrow and continued on. When the bell rang Annette grabbed her stuff and fled down the hall to lunch, Jack was waiting there impatient as always. Jack had dark brown hair and red eyes; he had a tight shirt that showed every muscle on and a pair of blue jeans. “Sorry! I ran here.” Annette panted stuffing her notebook into her red binder.

“What’s that?” Jack asked reaching for the binder.

“Oh that? It’s nothing really!” Annette stated pushing past him and heading for the lunch line that would cost her later. Jack growled and grabbed the usual table Annette and him sat at. Annette hurried through the lunch line she had only a soda. “Hey, sorry about earlier…” she started.

“Yeah whatever.” Jack growled watching as May and Amy filed in.

“Jack smiled and wrapped his arm around Annette, Riley who had been hiding in the shadows wrote down what he saw. Amy pretended to gag but May just shook her head. “Annette, Annette, look at me.” Jack said his eyes stared down at her head. “Annette.” Jack’s tone was a warning.

Lifting her head a fraction Annette stared through her bangs. Jack lifted her chin up and bore his eyes into hers. “Yes?” Annette asked timidly.

“I only do the things I do because I love you.” Jack whispered.

May gripped the table hard her nails began growing longer, Amy nudged May and mouthed, ‘Not here! Not now!’ May nodded and released the table slowly.

“I’ll tell you what I heard later.” May whispered.

“Jack…” Annette started finding her hands an interest now.

“Hmm?” Jack asked.

“Max wants me to stay home tonight, he said he needed to talk to me.” Annette responded.

“No! Your going out with me tonight! I don’t want you near Max.” Jack growled. Annette nodded just as Jack asked another question, “What was in that purple notebook?” As he asked it the bell rang. Annette grabbed her stuff as Jack grabbed her wrist. “You will tell me!” He released her wrist but without first putting marks, Jack left the cafeteria leaving Annette to her thoughts.

A hand was softly laid on her shoulder, “You don’t have to do what he says.” Amy whispered.

“Yes I do.” Annette turned to leave but Amy grabbed her arm.

“Where did you get this?” Amy asked pointing to a bruise on Annette’s arm.

“Nothing I hit a door.” Annette stammered. Pulling her arm back Annette scurried off, back to class. May was glad when the last bell rang; Annette had skipped fourth and went home to get ready for her date with Jack.

Max stormed in the house angry as a bull. “Annette!” He shouted. Annette rushed downstairs as Max began pacing. “You will not go on that date!” he stated.

“Yes I am.” Annette said brushing past Max.

“No, you won’t.” He ordered.

“Just leave me alone! I love Jack and you can’t keep me from seeing him!” Annette shouted.

“Go, I don’t care just go!” Max’s fist collided with a wall; Annette escaped outside into the crisp fall air.

“There you are.” Jack greeted taking Annette’s hand in his. Annette wrapped her arms around Jack; Jack hugged her back but pulled her away. His eyes were hard, fierce and angry.

‘Let the beatings begin.’ Annette thought as Jack towed her away.

“No! Click on that one.” Riley shouted pointing to a promising site. Lee clicked the link and was directed toward a teen abusive site. Skimming through were questions, Lee and Riley each read.

“Does he isolate you from friends and family?” Riley asked.

“He’s trying to.” Lee growled.

“Hmm… Hey Lee check this out!” Riley said pointing to another site that said, ‘Signs your partner may be abusive’ Riley clicked on it and read the first one, “Jeckel and Hyde behavior.” Riley read.

“He has that one down!” Lee stated.

“Overreacting?” Riley asked.

“Oh yes that one to.” Lee replied.

“Intense jealousy?” Riley questioned as he searched around Google for another site.

“More than likely.” Lee responded.

Riley logged off the computer and spun around in the chair thinking as Lee continued to stare at the wall.

Annette’s body ached; Jack had left thirty minutes ago. Her arm was probably broken, she had a black eye, and she had bruises all over her body. ‘I need to break up with him… if I don’t he’ll kill me.’ Annette thought. Leaves rustled and Max ran out from the bushes.

“Annette… oh my gosh. Annette your eye is bleeding! Annette… can you hear me? What happened?” Max asked.

Annette tried to sit up as best she could, coughs erupted from her throat making her puke up blood. Max held her hair back for her as she continued to cough, for the first time in a long time Annette felt not only used but helpless as well. After about five minutes of coughing up blood she was able to talk though her throat was hoarse and dry. “He tried to hurt me… tried to kill me this time.” Annette managed to choke out before the tears leaked down.

One eye shed blood, the other shed tears. Max gently picked up her broken body and carried her to Amy’s she was closer. Amy welcomed Max with open arms before she saw the shape Annette was in. She hurried them in and ran to get her medical supplies, Amy was headed for the medical field and she knew exactly what she was doing. “What did he do to her?” Amy asked wrapping a bandage tightly around her right eye.

“He beat her, what else?” Max said gently holding Annette’s hand. Annette squeezed Max’s hand as Amy worked, for Annette the pain was unbearable and most of the gashes she had were deep. “He’s a demon… that means… he wouldn’t…” Max stammered his eyes growing wide.

But he did and Annette knew he did, she had never seen that form until tonight it would not only haunt her but it would haunt Max as well for as long as they lived.

A Place to Call Home

Yeah i know chapter one is up here again! sorry can't help it, chapter 2 isnt even done yet! read and reveiw!

Chapter 1: Romeo and Juliet

“To the left!” It was a male voice low the range was baritone. Silver hair swayed in the ever-raging wind. The hair disappeared and reappeared to the left of the demon. “I said to the left, but as usual no one ever listens to me.” A gentle sigh was carried through the wind to the demons sensitive ears. The demon turned to the left, the silver haired boy was nowhere to be seen.

“Turn around!” The voice sounded the same but the scent was different.

“No your right!” The voices combined together this time. Two figures stepped from the shadows, both had silver hair. One had his tied up by a black silk ribbon the other used a hair band, both had on black velvet cloaks the hoods down. They were both pale, and had bright eyes. Lee, the younger of the two had green eyes and used a ribbon to tie his hair up. Lee hated hair bands and preferred the 1800’s better because of their choice of hair bands. Max the oldest by thirty minutes was bored out of his mind! He yawned and scratched the back of his head; the pale moonlight cast shadows showing the lengthened claws and unsheathed teeth.

“Lee, take the female. You need the experience plus I’m tired and ready to go home.” Max said as the leaves rustled and a female demon joined the male’s side. Lee nodded and hopped into a tree while Max smiled and waved.

Lee dropped from the tree and landed thirty feet away from the female, the male charged after Max. “May I have this kill?” Lee asked holding his hand outstretched towards the female. Lee didn’t wait for an answer; he slashed the demon’s throat and covered his nose to the rich blood that poured out. May was coming with Annette he could smell their scents in the air; he didn’t want her to see what would become of him once he became thirsty.

“I can’t believe they left us!” Annette cried as May darted down the trailhead.

“Next time they suggest a shopping trip for us we refuse! Deal?” May asked. This time the boys had sent them to London.

“But I’ve never been to London! This was my first time.” Annette complained.

“You’ve also never been to Spain, Paris or any other place they’ve sent us!” May shouted dodging trees left and right.

Annette had, had a lot of time to think on that trip, and she concluded that she missed her boyfriend and demon Jack. Jack had seen them off at the airport, “Be safe.” He had said as he kissed her on the forehead. Lee didn’t like Jack, and that was putting it mildly. In fact he loathed him, he had mocked him at the airport and May held her hand over her mouth to stifle a giggle that threatened to expose her.

“You love her.” Max said once Jack was gone and out of hearing range.

“She’s my daughter of course I do.” Lee stated if his heart still beat it would be racing. Max sighed heavily that wasn’t what he’d meant.

“Your not her biological father! You love her and you know you do.” Max stated hands in pockets.

“We’re here!” May called as the fight was just winding down. “Oh guys! I can’t believe you, you didn’t let us have any fun.” May complained. Annette slid off May’s back thankful for the quick ride to the forest.

“Sorry.” The twins apologized. May sighed and turned back to Annette, her shoulder length brown hair was tossed in the wind. May had pale skin like Lee and Max; she had brown eyes and wore a pair of black jeans and a red tank top.

Annette had long black hair that went down to the middle of her back; she had violet eyes and tanned skin. She wore a ruby red kimono with black feathers and flowers on it. “You look really good Annette.” Max said ruffling her unruly hair. Annette smiled and grabbed Max’s arm.

“Ready to go home?” Lee asked.

“Yeah I’m tired.” Annette stretched and yawned something silver caught Lee’s eye.

“What’s that?” Lee questioned reaching over to grab it.

“Oh its my sword, May bought it for me it’s a late birthday present from her.” Annette giggled.

“So that means…. Yes! I can teach you how to fight now!” Max cheered picking Annette up and swinging her around.

Lee’s mouth flew open as May laughed and joined the party Max seemed to be having. “Does anyone but me see anything wrong with this picture?” Lee asked.

Max stopped swinging Annette around and thought a moment, “I don’t see anything wrong it. Come on Lee she needs to learn how to fight, we can’t keep rescuing her.” Max responded his eyes pleading.

“No! I won’t have her… I don’t want… Annette no don’t you give me that look.” Lee cried as Annette’s lower lip jutted out and her eyes became pleading. “Annette… oh fine!” Lee gave up and Annette tackled him and hugged him.

“Thank you Lee, thank you, thank you!” She cried.

Lee smiled as long as Annette was happy so was he, “Ready to go home?” Lee asked scooping Annette up in his arms.

“Uh huh!” Annette said as Max, Lee and May darted off back home. When they arrived to the house Lee set Annette down on her feet. The house was painted white and had a porch with a swinging chair on it, there was a hammock out back and a balcony over looking the meadow that served as Annette’s and Max’s training area. Inside the house there were cherry wood desks, cabinets, and books shelves, when you lived forever money just seemed to pile up. Everyone in the house had at least a small balcony somewhere in their room, over looking the meadow, the backyard, the forest, and the trailhead.

Annette went inside and headed upstairs to her room, she grabbed her acoustic guitar, which she had named Reaper and put it away back in its case. She headed toward the bathroom and took a nice long shower. After she was done she put her pj’s on which was a long sleeve shirt and pair of shorts and went to bed. The next day came bright and early May was up banging on everyone’s door telling them to get up and get ready for school. Amy was already downstairs when Annette descended wearing a pair of black jeans and a long sleeved red shirt. Amy was wearing her favorite denim mini skirt with a brown tank top. Amy had long jet-black hair that came down to the middle of her back, she mostly kept it up and she had hazel eyes, and fair skin. “What’s wrong?” Amy asked.

“Tired.” Annette replied rubbing her eyes.

“You look like you didn’t get much sleep.” Amy said.

“Yeah that’s because I didn’t, you remember that play we have to do right?” Annette asked. When Amy nodded Annette continued, “Well I spent all night trying to find the words and then I revised them for us.” Annette yawned.

“Oh yeah! I thought that was due tomorrow I guess it must have slipped my mind, thanks Annette you always come through for us.” Amy cheered. Annette nodded and leaned her head against Amy’s shoulder and closed her eyes for just a moment. “Aww poor you.” Amy said patting Annette’s head.

“What happened? Oh… that play we forgot to do it!” May shouted panicked.

“No, actually Annette pulled through for us! She made it for us last night just in the nick of time!” Amy cheered pulling Annette’s hand up to show May the paper. May sighed with relief, as Lee and Max hobbled downstairs their empty backpacks unusually full today.

“That plays today? Good thing we have our costumes ready! Where’s yours?” Lee asked his usual silvery hair was now golden blond. “Don’t ask what happened to my hair you’ll find out today.” Lee smiled warmly at the girls.

“Ok fine whatever and our costumes are at school thank you very much! Thanks to May she got them ready for us I picked the play and Annette re wrote the words for us.” Amy replied as she shook Annette awake and dragged her outside.

As the group walked to school, they talked about the plays they had picked out. Lee, Max, and Riley were doing Romeo and Juliet, while May, Annette and Amy were doing Macbeth the three witches scene. As they neared the school they broke off into groups Lee and Max went to find Riley so they could get their costumes on and ready since they were second to go, and May, Annette and Amy headed toward the drama room where their costumes were stored. “Ok class! Class! As you know today your plays are due, you must act them out in front of the class our first group will be Annette, May and Amy with there play Macbeth.” Mrs. Varner said. The class settled down as three young witches entered the classroom.

Amy was carrying a jukebox and dancing to the music as she entered the other two dancing along. They made their scene come straight from the hood, they were rapping and dancing and the class even Mrs. Varner was singing along to.

Next came Max, Lee and Riley. Max was the first to come in, his silver hair was out of its usual ponytail and draped on his back. He had a cane with him and wore pants that came up to his stomach, and a mahogany shirt with a vest, in other words he was old! “Juliet!” He shouted throwing his cane up in the air. “Where the heck are you?!” He stated.

Just then the door opened and in walked Juliet, Lee had dyed his hair blond for that part and wore a tight mini skirt and a tube top with pink and green balloons for boobs that were about to bust out of his shirt. He had what seemed to be a fake nose piercing and had big hoop clip on earrings. He had his cell phone up to his ear and was talking into it loudly. His pumps were bright green just like his top. “And I was like oh my gosh no you didn’t!” Juliet shouted shaking her head and wagging her finger.

“Juliet its you!” Romeo cried rushing to give her a hug. By now the whole class was trying to contain their laughter.

“Wait a minute let me call you back!” Juliet said as she hung up the phone. Romeo charged for her and ended up running into her enormous balloons. The class roared with laughter as Max tried hard not to laugh and break character. “Oh my gosh! Its you Romeo… dang you’ve gotten older since the last time I’ve seen you!” Juliet shouted as she adjusted her balloons.

“What happened to you?” Romeo asked trying hard not to stare at her boobs.

“Oh you like? I just got some implants! I wanted them bigger and this is just the right size!” Juliet stated readjusting her boobs once more.

By now the class was crying they were laughing so hard, even Mrs. Varner was enjoying herself. “Oh my gosh! Romeo! My mom’s coming hurry up and hide!” Juliet shouted as the door began to open. Romeo stood behind Juliet hopping her boobs were big enough to hide him. In stepped Riley he had on a red wig had a beach ball stuffed under a tight shirt, and a tight pair of black denim jeans. His pumps were twice the size of Lee’s.

“Juliet!” Mrs. Capulet screeched. “When did you get implants?” She asked.

“I don’t know.” Juliet said as her phone went off, she looked at it and saw she had a text message she used her long fingernails to type a reply when she hit the sent button her long nail popped off. Riley tried hard not to laugh. “Do you like them?” Juliet asked.

“Mine are better!” Mrs. Capulet stated.

“Whatever!” Juliet sighed and rushed over to compare hers with her mom’s.

“Who is that?!” Mrs. Capulet roared.

Romeo had been spotted; Juliet rushed over and crushed Romeo’s head to her boobs. “No mamma you can’t take him away I won’t let you! I won’t! I won’t!” With each I won’t Juliet’s ever-large boobs smashed Romeo’s head. Riley couldn’t take it anymore like the class he busted with laughter, singling they were done!

“Bravo! Bravo an A for all of you!” Mrs. Varner shouted as Lee popped his boobs and helped Riley deflate his.

Fallen Chapter 3

"You know nothing about me!" Lee wanted to shout but knew that this Guardian Angel knew quiet a lot about him. Sam sighed and turned his head away, he needed to find Annette... he needed to tell her what was going on!

"Look... please tell me where Annette's at... she's going to lose her wings if she doesn't act like a Guardian Angel! Please tell me where she is." Sam said his eyes searching Lee's for a hint of recognition.

"I don't know where she is... she just got up and ran, but I do know her favorite spot to go to is the meadow... if you want I can show it to you." Lee said not happy about this at all. He wanted to be with Annette because she was the only one who understood him, but then again he didn't want Annette to lose her powers either. What if she forgot him? He stared at Sam and realized he was talking to him. "I'm sorry what? I wasn't paying attention." Lee replied.

"Of course you weren't." Sam sighed and rolled his eyes before saying he would like it if Lee showed him the way.

Climbing down Lee veered off to the left and then the right and then left again, leaving poor Sam to dodge countless trees and brushes. Was he crazy?! Sam might be dead but he could still get hurt! "Hey Lee..." Sam decided to voice his opinion.

"Yeah?" Lee asked taking another hard left.

"I might be dead but I can still get hurt!" Sam shouted.

Lee smiled and took another hard left, Sam ran into a huge yew he threw his hands up and waved them to signal that he was hit. Lee turned around and grabbed a tree branch to steady himself, he was laughing so hard. "Oh my gosh! I didn't think you'd fall for that!" Lee shouted in between laughter.

Sam pulled his head, from the small hole in the yew that he had gotten stuck in, out. "That's not funny!" Sam growled as a squirrel who was currently occupying that tree screamed and shouted his protests.

"Yes... yes it is!" Lee laughed.

Fallen Chap. 2

Sam sat there glaring at the blueish looking portal and his hands... back at his hands to the portal.... his hands again and the portal... this went on for several minutes before he sighed and settled for staring at a tree. "Stupid.... why does she always do this?!" Sam cried his wings folded behind his back where dark gray, he was confused. "I don't want to go down there and fix this mess again! She's almost lost her ability to be a Guardian Angel once, she doesn't need to screw this up again!" Sam cried, he stared at the tree a moment longer before plunging himself into the portal.

Sam was one of the newer Guardian Angel's to be born as was Annette but he knew the rules better than anybody and was determined to follow them. Annette was his only friend and more like a sister to him than anything. Sam had sandy blond hair and blue eyes. All the childness in his face was gone and replaced by a more suiting look, his round cheeks had flattened out and he looked more like a man than a teenager. The portal plopped him down on the ground not far from where Lee was sitting, Sam began rolling off the roof but his wings opened and let the wind grab on and hold him steady in the air. Lee gasped but realized it was just another Guardian Angel, how did he keep getting so lucky? He knew he had one but two this was just getting ridiculous!

"Who are you?" Lee asked.

"I'm Sam, any idea where Annette's at?" Sam asked his eyes searching the boys for answers.

Lee glared at him for a moment before finally answering. "Who?"

"Don't play dumb with me!" Sam accused balling his fists up and clenching his teeth together.

"I'm not playing dumb because I don't know what you're talking about!" Lee shouted standing up on the roof.

"Lee Varner! Your parents beat you until you were 17 that's when you ran away and that's when Annette was sent to take care of you! Your parents soon died in a car wreck caused by a drunk driver and now you live in your parents house, you never went to their funeral and the only time you go to their grave is to laugh and mock them! There did I get everything? Or am I missing something?" Sam questioned his wings now turning a fiery red.

"How... how... how do you know?" Lee asked his hand instinctively going to his right eye.

"Oh yes I forgot one more thing... Your blind in your right eye... thanks to your father... I think that's everything." Sam responded.
